Maintaining your car in a recession is essential for your safety, your wallet, and the longevity of your vehicle. Regular maintenance, tire rotations, and safety inspections are necessary to ensure your car is operating safely and efficiently. Keeping up with necessary maintenance is one of the best ways to save money in the long run, as it will prevent you from having to buy a brand new car or make expensive repairs in the future. Additionally, regular maintenance is key to making sure your car is reliable and will last for years to come. With the higher interest rates for vehicle financing, and the above average used car market pricing maintaining your car always pays off in the long run. I talk a lot about the vehicle care costs with customers and I have found over all my years in this business that service , maintenance and repairs always beats out financing a new vehicle in the long game. Nothing will beat the shiny, new car smell, new car peace of mind ( sometime ... read more

I've always been a believer in completing proper SSC Safety Standard Certificates or a Ministry Safety Inspection. These certifications need to be completed for several reasons: Transfer of ownership in Ontario ( buying or selling) Transfer of ownership to another family member Transfer of ownership from leasing company to your personal name or company name Importing of car from the USA or another province to get Ontario plates. Requested by insurance company due to age or transfer to another company After a vehicle has been rebranded Several years ago there were changes to the auto repair safety standards paper manual. https://www.ontario.ca/files/2022-03/mto-passenger-light-duty-vehicle-inspection-standard-en-2022-03-18.pdf These changes were well overdue with additional c ... read more

Brake Repair Oakville You have been advised you need brakes replaced, serviced or maintenance. Let’s try and explain what is the purpose and benefit. I’m going to keep this concise and in simple terms This was a great Bendix You Tube video explaining how brakes work if you want to watch it. Bendix is a long standing premium brake manufacturer. https://youtu.be/KJ0koDXk6PY Brake replacement is the actual removal and replacement of brake components. Brake pad, brake rotor, brake caliper are the most common parts. They can fail for a long list of reasons: Brake grinding, brake squealing, brake vibrations or brake shuddering when slow or fast driving, brake pulling to one side, and various brake noises are all brake failures for replacement or maintenance service. It has been announced by The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks that the Ontario Drive Clean program has been canceled effective April 1, 2019. This mandatory vehicle emissions testing program will no longer be required after the cancellation date, but vehicle owners will still be required to make sure that their vehicle’s emissions systems are working properly at all times. Ontario has cited that the reason for the cancellation is to avoid taxpayers costs by up to $40 million a year. Effective April 1, 2019, drivers will no longer be required to have a Drive Clean emissions test performed for their vehicle. If your vehicle is due for a Drive Clean test before the cancellation date, you will still be required to have the test performed on your vehicle before you can renew registration. Until the effective cancellation date, the first Drive Clean emissions test to renew registration for light duty vehicles will be free. While the Drive Clean program ... read more

So come April 1 2017 there will be changes to the Drive Clean Emission Program. Some, oh probably most of the drivers out there dislike the program and I would agree even as an owner a business that has done thousands of them, i have my issues as well. The program does have some merit in that those who choose to disregard maintaining there vehicle have some sort of accountability to ensure its care and environmental footprint is reduced. As basic as I can translate all the information coming my way here of some of the changes coming. No more $30.00 test fee on the initial first test. You pass great, the government pays. You fail the government pays. Ok, you failed. Your retest at the original testing facility is Customer Pay $17.50 + tax, if you choose another facility for the re test then it's Customer Pay $30.00 + tax. No, you can't cheat and go from one fail to another - as your VIN# of your car will tell the fa ... read more
