What is a Transmission Fluid Flush?

You've probably heard the term or read it in your vehicles' maintenance recommendations - the transmission fluid flush. But what does it actually mean, and is it important to your vehicle's overall health?

A transmission fluid flush is a service that is usually recommended every 80,000 km or so, or as recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. This service is typically considered a preventative maintenance item, although it may be needed if you are having transmission problems.

A transmission flush consists is the process in which all of the oil inside your transmission is removed, then the system is flushed out using a special machine to remove grime and sludge buildup. Afterwards, new transmission fluid is added back in.

The key benefits from this service is to boost your vehicle's overall performance and lifespan. It also protects your vehicle's transmission system and ensure that it continues to run smoothly. Transmission repairs can be costly, so preventative transmission maintenance will end up saving you thousands in the long run.
