Brought a car in that I had recently purchased for a complete look over. They provided me a small list of things that were required and a breakout of each item to show a cost. Most issues were small, however they showed that the differential fluid should be changed at 60K and quoted a cost of $371 for this service. I called the dealership, and they advised that this service should be done at 100K and the dealership charged $150 for this service (parts and labour incl.) As a single woman, I am not an expert at these things, which is why I paid for the service to begin with. But with a few phones calls, I realized I was being gouged by the very people I had put my faith into. When I went I. To follow up, they advised that it was only a “recommendation”and they aren’t sure why it was quoted at $371? Protect yourself - make some calls, ask questions. Not everyone has your best interests at heart and that would include this place.
We have a major communication issue here.. It was me Carlo that reviewed this vehicle with you - I think your mother was the one waiting for the vehicle. I have called and left a message to communicate this more clearly., I clearly stated in our digital inspection check with the dealer " history and maintenance" of the vehicle - please see the inspection yourself. My comments on on final invoice for the price was *IF* there is no history, then it''s suggested as we have no history to if it's ever been done. I estimated not only the differential but ALL the drive lines fluids in my estimate. Your dealer price for $150.00 is not all of them only 1 of them. The prices were estimated and the job we were doing is NOT what you asked the dealer to quote you on. . Please understand our digital inspection, my comments on the work order stated it all clearly and it was explained exactly that way. I think there was a mis understanding on what was heard or read or translated between family members. Please call me and i'll review this all over again. We pride ourselves on very clean documentation and advising pre purchase owners as much as possible about the vehicle.
